Visual Perceptual Skills Addressed:

Visual Memory

Visual Memory is the ability to remember what is seen for immediate recall. It involves forming a mental image or picture of the characteristics of any given shape, symbol, object or pattern once the stimulus has been removed.

In the “Letter Shape Memory” worksheets, the student must form a mental image of all the shapes and letters, in order to recall which letters were inside each shape when they are no longer visible.

Visual Discrimination

Visual Discrimination is the ability to identify differences and similarities between shapes, symbols, objects or patterns, by analysing their individual characteristics and distinctive features.

In the “Letter Shape Memory” worksheets, the student must compare the features of any similar looking shapes, for example, an oval/circle or a square/rectangle, in order to distinguish between them.
